I started this blog to explain why I created a YouTube channel entitled JDRye195, which is me ‘Reading from the Old Testament.”

This YouTube channel is dedicated to reading the Old Testament without commentary.

Readings from the Old Testament You Tube channel

I am a Jewish mathematics professor, a senior citizen, not yet retired as I write this. I opened a YouTube channel, and the content as I mentioned is Readings from the Old Testament.  I created the channel Nov 17, 2025; as of today, Dec 11, 2025, the book Genesis is posted and I am up to Exodus 9.  My intent is to read each passage from the Old Testament without commentary in each video.

I am not monetizing any of this.

I wanted to create the site for anyone who would like to hear the Old Testament read to them. I imagine it useful for students, people on the go who may just listen on their way to work, those that are ill, senior citizens, anyone who just wants to hear the Old Testament read to them.

If together we could build a community, great, feel to join or create a group focused on exploring the Old Testament. Sharing insights, and experiences can deepen your understanding and foster meaningful connections. But if you are an individual to just wants to study the Old Testament, that is great as well.
