Reading from
the Old Testament

My name is Jay Abramson. I am a mathematics professor with 43 years of teaching experience. I have earned four Teacher of the Year Awards and have authored multiple textbooks.  

 

My journey in my religious faith eventually led me to created this website to compliment my YouTube channel entitled JDRye195,  "Reading from the Old Testament.”

 

My goal is to eventually post on this YouTube site the audio of each of the 39 books in the Old Testament without commentary.

My thinking is rather simple; this would open up more avenues for people to study the Old Testament. At the time created this YouTube channel, which was November 17, 2025, my thoughts were on students, adults on the go, senior citizens, people with impaired vision or people who just prefer to listen rather than to read.

This website contains my blogs on the Old Testament. My reading of the Old Testmament on the YouTube channel is deliberately done without commentary.

 

This website is not designed to be commentary, but it does offer me a way to utilize my teaching skills to talk and engage;  recap the Bible, provide insights or historical background.

 

The journey into the foundations of religious faith today can travel down many avenues. I choose this avenue.
